Every single one of these is a passenger plane, carrying hundreds of people happily spreading COVID for Thanksgiving.

He decided not to come home. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving (and likely Christmas) via zoom.

9. My household, parents, sibling, in-laws, cousin who traditionally hosts us, his kids' families, etc

are all doing solo household dinners with a zoom call attempt intended.

Same for the other side of the family, a different time zoom call or FaceTime or Google hangout tentatively planned but everyone hunkered down in their own household.

It's so fucking selfish of these people to cry "butt muh familee!!!!!" when the potential consequence in question is dozens to hundreds of people falling ill and several to tens of people dying as a result of one's trip.

5. We have to stop with the "stop the spread" bullshit.

We are way, way, way, way past the "stopping the spread" phase. The damn virus is everywhere. It is on every street in every city in every state in this country. We can't stop it. If you think we are stopping the spread now, you are kidding yourself.

The best thing we can do now is protect ourselves from getting it. Use every precaution necessary and stay home.

6. Also I'm quite cranky at my dear mom

She’s in her 80s. She’s getting together with 7 other people for Thanksgiving- and they’re from 4 different households.

If that wasn’t bad enough, she convinced some very old guy that was going a very good job at isolating to come out and play cards with them. It’s just so utterly frustrating and irresponsible. She told him he couldn’t fear life. I just wanted to scream.

7. My son drive home for Thanksgiving today.

He brought his own food and water and only stopped once for gas and restroom. Lots of alcohol wipes and a mask.

This isn't a significant increase from the air travel we have been seeing for a while and it is WAY down from a year ago today.
