He is putting his own lust for power over the survival of our democracy.
As the wanna-be dictator continues his assault on our elections and our institutions, Mitch McConnell wants to delay making any decisions until the Georgia run-off elections are over on January 5th of next year. He is willing to gamble the fate of everyone just so he can keep his Senate majority, or so he believes.
It is despicable.
It makes me very sad that my home state of Kentucky saw fit to send that reprobate back to the Senate. His legacy will not be about the number of judges he got appointed, as he thinks. It will be how he was complicit and how he assisted Donald Trump in his efforts to overturn an election in an illegal coup.

(1,819 posts)He stopped caring about America when the black guy got voted into the White House.
Winning the GA election is critical.

(6,038 posts)Amy ran as good a campaign as she could. Kentucky is content on giving Moscow Mitch a job for life. We are stuck with him.
Hopefully he won't live as long as Strom Thurmond.

I usually do not wish ill will on people. But in Mitchie"s case, and well deserved, I am willing to make an exception.

I would not want to be him when turned over to history.

(740 posts)Lets start to recognize the deep, deep divide in this country that is never going to be fixed. I don't blame Mitch for spending a lifetime being paid by a government he so despises. I blame the backward, hick, Pharisee majority in Kentucky that chose him over Amy McGrath by nearly 2:1. They also gave us Rand F***ing Paul.
Thanks Kentucky. So NPR did a story in 2018 which stated that for every dollar that Kentuckyians gave to the Federal Government they received $2.61 back. The SECOND most dependent State for Federal dollars in the Union. Great job Kentucky. Great your hands are out while at the same time ridiculing your benefactor.
The only counties Amy won were densely populated and likely educated. Says a lot for your State. I disagree that the focus should be on Mitch. The focus should be on his enablers. He won 6 of every 9 votes. I apologize to the 3 in 9 that voted for McGrath, but I have zero respect for your State. Not that it matters....
