Janet Yellen is Biden's pick for Treasury

?s=20

?s=20

Brilliant, experienced, kind, concerned with questions of inequality and fairness, both respected and well-liked by her peers, and a good manager and consensus builder.

Trump fired her from the Fed because she was too short. Seriously.

... but with each new "leak," I keep waiting for the usual crowd to start with their bleating and bloviating about how awful Biden's choices are. Sigh. What can you do (except to ignore them.)

What I'm trying to say is that the DEMOCRATS made the RIGHT CHOICE by nominating Biden. I'm so proud of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!

She was who I was hoping for at Treasury.

So invigorating to see Joe put in highly experienced and qualified people.

It's extremely important considering both the urgency of a rapid pandemic response and because massive repairs of tRump's damage to government agencies will be needed, and FAST.

I doubt that Biden will govern by tweet! And it will be great to have competent, knowledgeable individuals leading government for us rather than for their own enrichment and ego satisfaction.

The minutes of the federal reserve board are published after a delay. The board members made predictions about future economic results. Janet Yellen was the most accurate. Maybe she was just lucky but I think we should take that into account. She met her husband, George Akerloff, who later won the Nobel prize in economics, after both had been denied tenure. They took temporary jobs at the federal reserve until they could get new academic jobs, and met in the cafeteria there. They rose from that setback to become economics rock stars. I have for a long long time been a big fan of Janet Yellen. She will tell Biden the way it is, no matter what pressures are put on her.
