My husband and I lost our two beautiful German Shepherds to cancer a few years ago. Their markings were very similar to those of Champ and Major, so seeing these two gorgeous pups warms my heart and brings tears of remembrance to my eyes. So very happy to know that German Shepherds will soon grace the White House!

Another thing, if you didn't see it on TV, over time a system evolved in Obama's White House to deal with the daily avalanche of mail. Every day several were entered into the computer for him to focus on...a special one for a personal reply was chosen. Word of the White House mail got around to Congress and soon the computer mail was being sent around to a lot of officials so they could also keep their fingers on the national pulse.

My friend Greg works at DHA and was there when the puppies came in and when Biden picked up Major. He filmed a lot of the clips and could only be seen at the end raising his arms inside the facility while Biden is walking the dog outside.
