But I seem to remember an option that let you look at older images. I can't seem to find that capability anymore. It would be wonderful to look back in time to see if there's a point without the monolith.

What am I forgetting?

My guess is that it is hollow and was carried from the nearby dirt track.

Anyway, that looks like a cool spot, as is much in that area.

Not all the photos capture it, but there are screw patterns visible on some photos. Still, it takes some chops to create it, as clean as it is.

"Lock Hart Rd." is that dirt road that wraps around those sandstone "fins". Quickest way is probably to go north from UT 211 near the entrance to the Needles Unit of Canyonlands NP.

Probably an hour of serious 4WD to get there from 211.
