Why Trump’s Flynn Pardon Could Backfire
November 26, 2020 at 8:19 am EST By Taegan Goddard

There’s a chance President Trump’s pardon of Michael Flynn could backfire some day, The Week reports.

Trump’s pardon, which he announced in a tweet, means Flynn will theoretically no longer be protected from self-incrimination under the 5th Amendment should he ever be called to testify against Trump.

So say for some reason he does get called, he has shown to be of a character who would lie, just like Trump. At the very least he would have a very bad case of the "I can recall".

Remember how he has never attacked Flynn in any way. When it came to some of the others he would claim to not know them or turn on them in some way .

We need investigations to find out everything even if we might not be able to hold them accountable legally. It should still be part of the public record.

You know how Rump's mind works: quid pro quo. Flynn may just know enough to put Rump away for a long time.

If he's called as a witness prosecutors could refer to his confessions and sworn testimony and use that information to put Flynn in the position of telling the truth under oath or lying to protect Trump under oath. Will he risk prison exposure or testify truthfully? Didn't he once lead the chant of "Lock her up?"
The irony, it burns.

as that was their most advantageous choice, not just their only choice. And some state charges were held back for just this situation -- if all federal charges were pardoned -- and to avoid claims of violating double jeopardy.

So my question is not whether Flynn would squeal for a deal, but whether he could already have received an offer he couldn't turn down. He's been associating with extremely powerful and ruthless criminals and can't be of much more use to them at this point. We'll see.

That's who Biden's DOJ needs to focus on.

Flynn Sr is beyond reach now imo but his son is fair game

Every prosecutor knows this. That is why, in its more than 200 years of existence, it has never been successfully used.

Hell, we knew all along that president fuckface would pardon him, so no one should be surprised.

And in a few long weeks, private citizen fuckface will no longer have any power to block Flynn's testimony.

Then evidence proving it, sending them to jail. I suspect certain people were ahead of trump knowing he'd do this.
