I've been arguing with my Trumper cousin that Covid is airborne. She asserts that it is not - despite all the evidence that it is.

I rent a furnished cottage to a traveling ICU Covid nurse here in San Diego. We were sitting outside her cottage having happy hour yesterday and I asked her to explain this seemingly stupid opinion of the crazy people.

She said that it is airborne and it comes in 2 forms. Droplets from someone coughing or sneezing and in aerosol form which can go through a mask, but the mask keeps some of the virus out. She explained that the amount of "viral load" that a person receives can determine how sick someone will become. Wearing a mask will cut down on the viral load plus keeping the 6 feet distance.

She was planning on not caring for covid patients anymore because it is so exhausting, both mentally and physically, but changed her mind because there is such an incredible need. These doctors and nurses are true heroes.

Right now, we're edging up on 13 million cases and more than 260k deaths. >2%! (Around 1.8% worldwide)
Based on current numbers, it's 35 to 40x more lethal!
