Special prosecutors should be used. Biden says nothing, does nothing one way or the other.

Definitely anyone pardoned by Trump must be subpoenaed to testify before Congress.

Stone and Flynn both need to give themselves a chance to perjure themselves anew.

Trump isn’t going to leave office without first pardoning his administration and himself (or resigning and letting Pence pardon him).

He will weigh the bad optics of resigning to get a guaranteed pardon vs gambling that a self pardon will hold up and appearing strong to his base. He will sell the mass pardons as “stopping the next Democrat [sic] witch hunt before it starts.”

I like to be hopeful about this. In particular is Joyce Vance's segment around 18 minutes in.

A self pardon would be a dice roll. He has to weigh the optics of resigning and being pardoned by Pence, which absolutely would hold up, vs the better optics of a self pardon that isn’t quite as steadfast.

His legal jeopardy will be in state courts.

Justice, should prosecute these criminals on behalf of "We the people." Also, there is one thing here I always read.

Happy Thanksgiving DU. This is by far the weirdest one in my 73 years. The 1948 Chicago Thanksgiving snowstorm probably is second, but I was too young to remember it. My mother cooked a canned chicken because getting anywhere was impossible.

we see Lincoln's decision as noble.

It is what gives me pause. We need to make clear we are not prosecuting for policy decisions. It would be a never ending cycle with both sides prosecuting the other for things like the war in Iraq (think Vietnam). All retired presidents would be prosecuted for that kind of shit.

It has to be a clear violation of the law, not just he ignored Covid 19.

I'd rather we go after his kids.

The problem here is in defining what criminal statute Barr has broken (Trump is another ball of wax) -- and what charges seem to have a reasonable likelihood in conviction. Otherwise you're just playing politics (again) with Justice. And -- the fact that you have included Barr in with your question here -- indicates that you are already painting with a fairly large brush.
