This reminds me of prank I pulled on one of my coworkers where I moved his desk a centimeter each day till it was too close to the wall to get in. Maybe they’ve been reducing the size since the election and he doesn’t know.

just like this chair's legs. It was set in the 1800s. Hugh Grant looked silly in knickers almost kneeling on the floor. The tables and desks were all regular height though. Did they use different chairs when they sat at desks and tables from the ones they sat on in their living rooms with guests?

This was the only possibility that I could see for a chair with those legs...it was a "period" chair from the 1800s?

probably to spruce up his archives.

The Washington painting, fireplace, flags, seal, etc. are 100% photo-op......

The backdrop may also have some relationship to the article he is signing.

This room is the "Diplomatic Reception Room". Some history on it here - http://www.whitehousemuseum.org/floor0/diplomatic-room.htm and here -https://www.whitehousehistory.org/the-diplomatic-reception-rooms-historic-wallpaper

I want to know who the hell thought it was a good idea to throw grass green carpet down in there? I suppose the room is being used as a putting green now?

You can see the rectangular marks in the carpet, and no one has vacuumed since to get the carpet to all lie the same way.

but it was a ridiculous to throw that carpet down with the tree on the side as if to give the appearance of being "outside", which is, IMHO, tacky to have been added to such a historic room brought to life from what was once home to the WH boiler.

The images on the walls are actually wallpaper installed in 1961 during the Kennedy administration -

It looks like a house on moving day, and the movers just took all the real furniture.

No real desks left, so they had to go get that little table out of the garage.
