If we get 2M ....it's over for the GOP.

(46,023 posts)I'll be making calls tomorrow for the Georgia Democratic Party. They may still be taking volunteers. www.georgiademocrat.org

(22,235 posts)and I wrote postcards for the vote by mail campaign. Making these calls is much more fun than calling here in Texas because they register by party down there so the calls are going to Democrats. We have open registration so if a voter never votes in primaries we have no clue so our calls are blind, which can make for some really interesting calls.
I decided to stay with one group for phone banking because when I signed up for different things I ended up messing up the scheduling.
Warnock's phone banking setup is the best one I have ever used. My phone and computer work seamlessly, totally hands free. One of the other ones I used was so strange - sometimes the sound would come through my phone, sometimes earbuds and sometimes the computer speakers. I never could get it to work the same way 2 times in a row.
There is another round of postcard writing coming up for GOTV Early in person. I have my list already.
One of the ladies I spoke with a few days ago asked me what part of Georgia I was from and I told her Fort Worth Texas. She was very surprised and wanted to know why some one from Texas would make calls to Georgia. I told her there were people from all over the country making calls for these campaigns, and writing postcards and we are doing it because we know how important it is for these two to win. She thanked me profusely and I passed that bact to the phone bank group - I think there were maybe 100 in that group.

(22,235 posts)ballots - called it ballot harvesting!
I am just hoping the infighting in the Republican ranks down there just keeps on going
We always have low turnout for runoffs here but I think this one is going to set records.
One of the reasons we have Ted Cruz is because there was a runoff with low turnout. Ted was one of the early Tea Partyers to run for a major office and they came out to vote for him. I still believe if the original race had been only two candidates Ted Cruz would still be Soliciter General for Texas and David Dewhurst would be the Senator.

(4,437 posts)if repugs win, it may make all the difference in the world. But the dems have to repeat it constantly all the way up to the election.

(4,437 posts)is actually Social Security, Medicare, Disability, Unemployment, 40 hour work week, minimum wage, overtime pay, vacation time, maternity/paternity leave, sick leave, child labor laws, etc. they're talking about. The wealthy are the parasites on this country. They hide their money/assets, skirt the tax laws, and try to collect food stamps and Welfare and any other "free" stuff they possibly can. That's how they hold onto their money. This has to be yelled from the rooftops constantly until it sinks in peoples' heads.

(58,785 posts)GA is being blanketed all day long by a blizzard of fearmongering and character assassination. There is no political or demonic evil he is not being accused of somewhere, each ad material for a SNL skit or The Onion, but they're real.
The costs must be enormous. I've never seen anything like it. John Ossoff is small potatoes in comparison, but still heavily attacked, often in paired ads one after the other.

(1,803 posts)I ask, because the labels of socialism worked on that community in South Florida. I think the demographics in GA is different. 2M more votes to be had, and I'd bet a lot of it is in the ATL metro and suburbs.
Pukes have nothing to run on, they just calling names and grifting, like the chump GA rejected.
Team Blue wants CoVid Relief now! They don't.

(58,785 posts)what to think, which is many, and of course those who've soaked in the Kool-Aid of demoralizers and commitment destroyers, the Michael Moore/Justice "Democrats," types, will be turned off and stay home.

(1,803 posts)this is not a Jamie Harris SC boondoggle. This is winnable. Check the scoreboard.
Following posts will show how.

(58,785 posts)We're working on it, and informing DUers of the ad blizzard of the century that every voter in Georgia is being exposed to will not change the outcome.

(1,803 posts)just like this past Nov 3rd.
People made the mistake and came to GA too late. Wasted SOOO much in Maine, SC, Iowa, Ohio and other sink holes. This time, we have the jump and building for the long term.
Make a difference. what did you do?

(58,785 posts)Nimble, imo imagining election losses are 85% about a bunch of fumble-brained political strategists dropping the ball on America's foot misses at least 99% of reality.

Are full of passionate intensity.

(609 posts)Mrs. Obama is greatly respected and I hope someone can convince her to campaign in person. She has been using internet and twitter. Stacey Abrams knows what knocking on door is about. She is a bundle of energy but I hope Democratic Party supports her.
