(5,191 posts)I want to do that. Staying home this Black Friday. There is nothing if importance that I need and PAs COVID numbers are scary.
The DU link Omaha Steve set up (above, at the end of the OP) lets DUers specify how we want our donation divvied up. Lots of personal liberty.

(10,756 posts)Why aren't all these millionaires and billionaires helping out their local Food Banks? Why do we have to leave it to small donors?
But yeah, send some money to GA too.

(12,655 posts)In years past Ive gone to Costco and bought a couple hundred dollars worth of food and dropped it off at one of the organized homeless camps in my neighborhood. Didnt want to risk it this year so donated $200 to the local food bank.

(12,655 posts)Ive seen very little about Black Friday. That seems to be the real super spreader event if people from all over interact in malls.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
