Trump fans

My youngest son was a football player and is a fan. It is a world where other colleges, other teams and their fans are vilified. When he played in high school, our house would be egged if his team won. Fights would break out between college fans in bars. A loss was always blamed on a bad referee call. But, when a team didn’t make it into post season, fans would distance themselves quickly. No one wants to be associated with a loser. Trump is the old quarterback who has lost it. He doesn’t have it anymore. They will move on. Maybe he will become the funny commentator.

1. There are a lot of school fans like this nowadays, I'm always shocked

When we go to one of my sons games. They weren’t all snarling knuckledraggers but many were. At some schools most were. It was such an offensive display of poor sportsmanship. I don’t think this behavior just came out after trump was in office but I have no doubt it was amplified. But yeah, they got real quiet when their team lost. Surprisingly, I’d ask my son after some really obnoxious parents and fans how the other team was and he’d usually say they were fine. I just can not imagine that kind of behavior when I was in school.

... this is the same type of thinking Trump fans have, today. A loss is a "bad call" and the other team cheated. I was told having your home egged or TP-ed was just harmless fun. It's not. The losing team congratulates the winning team on a good game. They look toward the next contest. Trump fans do not agree. Also, school sports - especially Football - have become the only thing that matters to many people. Sports are important, but so is math, art... they are all important.

Sports can be awesome or really horrifying. A baseball dad (or mom) who yells insults from the bleachers at other people’s’ kids is hard to comprehend. But it is “Trumpism.” I just know these types abandon losers.

Football, for example, to my mind is just organized brutality. Never did get the appeal of a bunch of over-muscular individuals running around knocking each other down.

They always show up on message boards online, no matter what the topic.... have you taken a look at LinkedIn lately? The Trumpists are all over the message boards there -- one of them always has to get in a little dig about how much "the left hates Trump" or some such whining. But then they suddenly turn around and play the victim, as if they're somehow being "silenced." And you know damned well that they're just posting this kind of crap to try to get a rise out of people. The supreme irony is that this comes from the types who like to call others "snowflakes", and from that moron son who wrote the "Triggered" book. They are trolls and troublemakers by nature, just like their idol. It seems like that's all they have, and all that they live for.

I give Trump 2 or 3 more years before stroke or cardio takes him out. Then what?

St. Ronnie doesn't get much press these days.

Continuing your analogy, there will always remember The Don who brought us hope. Kinda ilke a few of the guys in a neighboring town. It was in the '70's and I was teaching at a public high school. I went to a couple of the football games when my students were playing.

The neighboring town was more working class. When we played them, there maybe four or five older guys in the stands, wearing their football varsity jackets from the 50's. Being on the team was the apex of there lives. Things went downhill from there when they took a job at the local factory that made aluminum lawn products. They are probably gone now... replaced by guys posting rattlesnake flags on their front lawns to show that they won't let the lib'tards push them around.

Now, Donald is the apex of the lives of similar people. They have little hope that things are gonna get better but maybe --- Trump '24.

They will stick around if Donald is still alive. Beyond that, ?

10. Trumpers, the disloyal opposition...
Sat Nov 28, 2020, 08:59 AM

Although they bray and strut about proudly when they are victorious, Trumpers also love to play the "victim" card, and we are already hearing abundant laments about the election being "rigged" and "stolen." At core, they always believe that the deck is stacked against them, and will find others to blame for their failures and lack of success in life. They certainly will never take personal responsibility. Trump himself is scorching the earth to make things as hard as possible for Joe Biden, and his followers will go back to opposing and obstructing everything that Biden tries to do, just as they did to Obama. Trump will relish his role as their high priest, planning for a comeback in 2024 that will never happen...

13. My (our) team mentality

I've always said that. That political association has become like rooting for a favorite sports team.
What we need to do is get the "fans" to switch to our team. How does that happen with sports? How do you get a person to switch a favorite team?

Don't see any sportsmanship whatsoever from even the casual fans, very sad.
