Still hoping Joe has a place for him. He has so much to offer. We can surely use his remarkable knowledge, skills and abilities.

(7,715 posts)He was totally loyal to Joe, so I hope that the two of them can agree on something.
He was brilliant on Fox during the general election.

(81,197 posts)And I trust Joe Biden to do what he promised as far as African Americans in high places. He's already proving that he knows talent and can make some really great choices - in background, experience, and smarts, as well as diversity. He's already picked our first African American UN Ambassador. And has everyone already forgotten he has a Vice President who he picked - a SECOND IN COMMAND - and FIRST Person Of Color - in Kamala Harris??? Hello???
Have we really forgotten about her already? Seriously? As we learned in Catholic school - "Oh ye of little faith..."
JEEZ, people! Give him time!!!

(5,304 posts)But with the enormous task of repairing the damage trump has done, the top jobs need to go to those with proven experience. Pete has a bright future, but with only being a mayor of a mid sized city, Pete's resume does not qualify him for a top job. I won't be surprised to see him sitting in the Oval Office during his lifetime, but his time has not yet come. He'll find the right spot to enhance his resume I'm sure.

I'm sure Joe will find the appropriate challenge for him to tackle and build his resume in the process.

(53,061 posts)Isn't a valuable skill in handling complex organizations and budgets then there is little to discuss, it's like being against math because it was used for nefarious purposes by someone once. MP wasn't a board member, CEO, or even in charge of a profit center. People continually comment about Pete's laser like logic and clear problem solving abilities without realizing that is exactly the type of skills McKenzie employs. It's very much like the uninformed bigotry that was is used against Democratic candidates who are lawyers by objecting to the clients they represented. More to the point the personal values that MP demonstrated shows that rather than making a fortune with McKenzie (which he would have) he did social/ volunteer work which raised questions in his mind about the unequal military burden that the poor bear and volunteered for the military.
Nice try, but you can learn how to budget without being tied to a company who suggested paying pharmacies a bonus if their customers overdosed on oxygen.

(149,580 posts)Barack Obama said Pete was the future of the Democratic Party.
And Joe Biden promised him a place in his administration when Pete threw his support to him.
He has many gifts! I hope Joe will find a suitable, hopefully high-profile spot that will allow him to shine and to shed the "inexperience" label he got stuck with.

(81,197 posts)And potential! And I think Joe Biden recognizes that.
My first choice was Jay Inslee, because Inslee was/is MASSIVELY on environmental issues as I am, and seemed to be the only candidate who was, til he bowed out. Then I went directly to the Biden camp.

Braun and Young are two pure pieces of dogshit
Mike Braun is a true dumbass and I think could be taken out in 2024, but it is such an uphill battle now, as Indiana has went full-blown fundie MAGAt white nationalist and there is not a positive (for us) demographic shift underway there other than hopefully the RW boomers and older gens eventually lose a lot of influence
