"SNIP.....
In the twilight of his presidency, Donald Trump is discussing different ways to disrupt the impending Joe Biden era, chief among them by announcing another run against him, the Daily Beast reports.
According to three people familiar with the conversations, the president, who refuses to acknowledge he lost the 2020 election as he clearly did, has not just talked to close advisers and confidants about a potential 2024 run to reclaim the White House but about the specifics of a campaign launch. The conversations have explored, among other things, how Trump could best time his announcement so as to keep the Republican Party behind him for the next four years. Two of these knowledgeable sources said the president has, in the past two weeks, even floated the idea of doing a 2024-related event during Bidens inauguration week, possibly on Inauguration Day, if his legal effort to steal the 2020 election ultimately fails.

(15,084 posts)Don't even send any reporters. No camera crews.
Don't tell us about it on the evening news.
Talk 100% about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. PLEASE!

(1,442 posts)it's his TV ratings. Now, I really hope he does it, just so we can rub his face in his for certain ratings loss.

(11,686 posts)You will get all the people we couldn't care less about. Fewer to try to disrupt the inauguration.

(51,590 posts)a few days ago and added that he will probably charge his cult an attendance fee to pay for his campaign, lawsuits, RNC, etc. That is what he is going to do when he is out of office to scam $$$ from them and they are all too happy to pay big bucks to see their dear leader. His ego and his pocketbook need it, especially to distract from the attention paid to Biden. He will be a no show and have a rally instead.

(51,590 posts)since I taught 1st graders for years I am pretty good when it comes to early childhood development. I think tRump's been locked in this stage since he was 6 and hasn't progressed.

(51,590 posts)classroom management for children like him is separation from the group. They hate that. They desire attention and normally this works really well. How do we separate Donny from the group? Prison in solitary confinement would destroy him.

(63,221 posts)As of Noon on Jan 20th, the taxpayers are off the hook and he no longer has access to AF1 or Marine1. Everyone who helps to put together a rally will have to be hired independently. Also, the networks are not going to cover him while the inauguration is taking place.
That money might be better spent on defending himself from all the lawsuits that will be coming his way.

(3,473 posts)than Biden's inauguration crowd. Let's see how many people get sick or die because of each event a few weeks later.

(7,431 posts)Jan/Feb, 2021. Dislike of Trump is extreme in those who see him unfavorably. A lot of DOJ/prosecutor types relish the opportunity to throw everything AND the kitchen sink at him. That Trump insists on staying in the public limelight makes him hard to ignore. Even prosecutors who want to give him a pass would pay for that mistake.
So, go Donnie, go! Keep making messes.

(18,486 posts)And see what it's like trying to put on a rally when you're no longer the media's bright, shiny new object or president of the United States.
Among other things, you won't even merit a split-screen, you can't make the taxpayers foot the bill, and your drastically scaled back Secret Service detail might actually let the fans you despise and look down on get closer to you than you like.
This should be fun to watch - if only you get an coverage.

(1,178 posts)This is just another way for him to play victim. January 20, is a Wednesday. The amount of people attending would be minimal, and the networks are going to devote all their time to the inauguration. Yet, he'll turn around and complain the media didn't cover his event that was "hugely attended." He's irrelevant.

(10,136 posts)The resident of the White House couldn't be gracious for a few hours if his life depended on it. He's the very model of a sore loser.
If he does throw himself a pity party - who's going to pay for it? He won't have Air Force 1 to use after noon, no government funds, Secret Service protection goes down to a minimum, the Mall in DC is probably already booked, and any event planners that he hasn't screwed over yet are probably busy. He may be able to boast that he'll have a bigger crowd than at Biden's inauguration, but only because Biden and Harris, being sensible people, will be limiting contacts and crowd size.
