Hundreds Of Geese On The Move In The Chicago Area Today....

Is this a sign of a bad winter? I've seen over 9 formations of at least 50 or more geese per formation flying in the typical vee pattern today already. Just wondering why all of them are on the move today. What's going on?

I have hunted geese since I was a boy. The migration is late this year. Weather has been very nice

Not kidding. I’ve been watching them for years. They get out of town before a cold spell.

It will get good and cold tomorrow - first cold spell of the year - down to 50 F by 5 PM and about 33 F Monday night/Tuesday morning. There is a front coming through that is giving us some nasty wet weather, so I guess the robins are trying to get ahead of it.
