It is possible to keep your blood sugar within normal range if you’re a type 2 diabetic. I’ve found this site to be a wonderful resource:

was a type-1 diabetic. I went on a low-glycemic diet which I still follow and 20 years later
I'm still "Pre-Diabetic".
