Regarding taking Covid 19 vaccines while Trump is still pResident

Hopefully, the vaccines coming on the market will work. As for me, I'm skeptical of anything we're told by big pharma, and especially, by this White House.

I am not an anti-flu shot, anti-vaccine shot nut. And I will get a Covid vaccine shot when it's available, but only after Joe Biden is in the White House and respected medical professionals tell us it's safe.

This virus has all but destroyed our health system and our economy, but we all know it didn't have to be this bad. It was Donald Trump's do-nothingness that made the United States the deadliest country in the world regarding this virus. May he live long and suffer endlessly.

I'm looking forward to Joe Biden's inauguration. It will mark the day on which we can once again trust a president to tell us the truth.

One million will tell us a lot.

Right now, since it would be under emergency authorization, that means you would be part of the experimental phase if you take it.

No vaccine from any company that was part of the warp speed program or received US government funding in any way (except in the case of logistics).

I’m over 70 and a cancer survivor. I asked my oncologist and she said, except for health care workers and absolutely essential workers, we will be lucky to get it in late Spring.

..to do independent assessments of the drugs being made available to make sure politics hasnt tainted them in any way. Hubby is a pharmacist and I have asked him his opinion and he says so far hes been happy with the results and the trials. We are NOT anti vax either.....In fact I got my very first flu shot this year...only because i never get sick so I never took the shot...but i wanted to be able to rule out the flu if i got ill.

I was hoping that since this covid seems to start in the nose
that a nasal squirting vaccine might be developed.

I will wait until the companies have peer reviewed findings about efficacy and safety at least 6 months after the dose, and preferably 12 months.

They have all rushed to market without the normal safety measures and I do not trust that for profit companies with a history of hiding back drug results wouldn't do the same with this vaccine to increase profit.

We have regulations about these things for a reason...the unbridled greed of corporation logic leads to dangerous decisions that put people's lives at risk.

It's reviewed by a neutral committee before even the pharma company gets to see it. It's not like we are going to have any idea what the long term safety of it could be for years.

Trump wanted to put a vaccine out before the election but couldn't get it to happen. There's no reason to rush one out now, so I'm not worried about it at this point. I'll take it as soon as I can. The more people with some immunity to it the better.

The efficacy will be better known at that point, and Joe Biden will have been President for several weeks.

That doesn't mean they profited off of it. I could go into why the covid vaccine is revolutionary but that is more likely to cause people to believe antivax boogeyman tales.

I do agree entirely that the pharmaceutical industry engages in price gouging, patent abuse and collusion between companies to prevent competition and maintain high costs of pharmaceuticals that have been widely available for decades. All of this should be addressed through regulation of the industry.

That being said, I do not for a second believe that the industry as a whole would knowingly develop an ineffective and/or dangerous vaccine for covid. There are systems in place for review and evaluation that have nothing to do with Trump or the administration. Whether I like the asshole or not, warpseed was ultimately necessary for the manufacturers that supply materials for both the development and ultimately the production of the vaccines.

Are you under the impression that the Biden Administration will be dealing with someone else? Pr that we'll be delaying all vaccine development until Biden "trusts" them?

In addition, the leading candidate comes from a company not part of warp speed.
Any rushing they did was driven by a deadly pandemic. It wasn't to please any particular political candidate.

I doubt it'll be readily a/v to most of us by 1/20/21 and I don't mind waiting a little more for the 1st users to make sure it actually is safe, I am a bit paranoid though.
