and my guess is, he said "yeah, it's sprained" and then, the next morning, he said "maybe I need to get this checked, it hurts in a different place than a sprain!".

I've also broken one of the bones in my foot.

We all thought it was a sprain, but after a couple days, it was a different kind of pain.
Xray showed the fibula was cracked.
ZERO displacement. The break looked like someone took a ruler & pencil and drew a line across the bone.
I've had 3 ankle sprains from basketball. No breaks though. One high, two low.
The high ankle sprain was quite a drag.

now it dislocates and I have to smack it back into the socket. Then, it's a little painful, but OK until the next time.

I walk slowly and carefully to avoid doing it though.

Just completing a marathon is a big thing. On a stress fracture is a big, big thing.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
