At the end of the encounter, the older man got away mostly just pushed around. Had he fought back an unwinnable fight, he likely would have had a black eye, broken nose, and possibly a broken arm from the fall.

66. As a dentist, I can speak with authority

that when I was in school we had a guy who had this potential. He was an extremely aggressive individual who threatenEd people with physical violence, and made it clear that if he were reported as doing so, he would resort even more Grotesque physical violence. He has since relocated from this area, but was literally thrown out of his graduate program by the Chairman of the department who happened to be an expert in martial arts. And I mean literally thrown out the door, having been found cheating on his record keeping. He tore the sign off my door when I started my practice, and I know for a fact he was in the building and on my floor. He was an extremely dangerous individual and I was thrilled to hear he moved 3000 miles away.

And how did he get away with it? Fear. He had a Charles Manson appearance.
