It wasn't a secret, and many men had that done in the 80's and still do, including in D.C. AND it's all his own hair!

From what I've heard (in an Ivana gossip book), Donald wanted it done too. But Ivana the 1st, sent him to her plastic surgeon to have a scalp reduction where a football shaped piece of scalp is removed. Once the remaining scalp is approximated, they sew it together and your remaining hair is less far apart! It's more effective and quicker than plugs.

In Ivana's book, he blamed her for his post-op pain, and supposedly attacked her and ripped huge chunks of her hair out to get even, leaving her bloody and crying on her bed.

Donnie sued her for releasing this story.
