"I'm now seeing a presidential pardon as perhaps the most lawful way to obstruct justice that we have in our system because that's what these pardons will inevitably become. An obstruction of justice by the president to protect his own skin" - @FrankFigliuzzi1 w/ @NicolleDWallace

The President's power to pardon shall be limited to crimes that may have occurred prior to taking office, and may never be used to pardon family members or confirmed members of his own administration.

Since our Founding Documents, there have been 33 Constitutional Amendments that were passed and sent to the States for ratification. The first 10 formed the Bill of Rights. Of the remaining 23, only 17 became Amendments to the Constitution.

It's really hard to change the Constitution and our current polarized political circumstances probably preclude any in the near future.

I share your perspective, however.

It takes thirty-eight states to pass an amendment. We'd be lucky to get twenty-five.

pardons are only a tool of nullifying the judiciary, federal law and the Constitution, and conferring total immunity to those the president deems above the law with him (Trump's crime syndicate).

Congress must know that it must pass laws to end such abuses of rule of law pardon power, or Republicans will continue their mafia racketeering, their right wing media's grievance and victimization posing, along with their demonizing and threatening the lives of those who protect and defend rule of law.

The precedent was set. Lie to protect those in charge, and you get a 'get out of jail free' card.
