He said he had to approve of any investigation into the Administration.
It couldn't be ethics or fidelity to the Law.

(19,340 posts)The problem with trying to be a corrupt head of an organization full of lawyers is that the cats you are trying to herd are potentially annoying pe[n]dants.
So they may not have told him.
Edit: fuck, fuck, fucking typos/autocorrect when writing about PEDANTS on your tablet.

(3,960 posts)With the incoming Biden admin in case his current boss fails to pardon him meaning that if he, trump doesnt pardon him, Barr will sing to Biden DOJ. Thus todays development could be a shot fired across tRumps bow, a warning shot with a clear message- pardon me or else.

(14,718 posts)He would be very guilty if he DIDNT let an investigation take place.
Or, as someone else suggested, maybe it doesnt involve trump, so they see no reason not to actually follow the law.
Following the law is not their default setting.

What does Scheisser mean in German?
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary deemed it probably based on the German Scheisser [Scheißer] (literally "defecator", "shitter" ). A book published in 2013 traces the first use back to 1843, when scammers in New York City would exploit prisoners by pretending to be lawyers.

(5,719 posts)in this country knows that Trump is corrupt and easily bought. It could be anyone, i.e. someone connected with his gang of thieves, or someone who isnt but has connections and enough $$ to try.
As Trump would say, what does s/he have to lose?

(19,502 posts)he might have let the investigation run.
What about Ghislaine Maxwell? He sex crimes would repulse Barr.
Or he may draw a line at pardons for bribes.

(8,803 posts)isn't Trump's WH then it makes more sense that Barr would let it happen, especially in the context of the recent Durham stuff
Barr is so heinous I wouldn't ascribe any noble purpose to his actions unless proven otherwise
