(28,268 posts)How does it feel, SparklePrincess?
Pretty people they're all drinkin',
thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all their precious gifts
But you'd better take your diamond ring
You'd better pawn it, babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags
And the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you
You can't refuse
When you ain't got nothin'
You got nothin' to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets
To conceal
How does it feel?
Ah, how does it feel?
To be on your own?
With no direction home?
Like a complete unknown?
Like a rolling stone?"

(43,307 posts)that means that the only state charges that escape pardons are those made by the NY AG.
Is that the extent of it? Because if it is, that family has gotten away with SO much federal crime.
Me.
(35,454 posts)THe thing is, we don't know enough about the case yet to make a determination on what chance there is for her to pay for her crime or if she will be able to escape. Everything is conjecture at this point.
1. For one think, I think it depends on what jurisdiction is declared
"A Civil court has jurisdiction to decide a suit if two requirements are fulfilled: The suit must be of a civil nature. The cognizance of such a suit should not have been expressly or impliedly barred.
The jurisdiction of a legal case depends on both personal jurisdiction and subject matter jurisdiction. A court must have both subject matter jurisdiction and personal jurisdiction over the matter to hear a case. Subject matter comes first"
A way she could be caught up would be if it becomes a RICO, or racketeering matter. I Believe the AG of NY is looking to tie them up with that charge in civil court in NY.
"A civil RICO action can be filed in state or federal court. Both the criminal and civil components allow the recovery of treble damages (damages in triple the amount of actual/compensatory damages).
RICO authorizes severe penalties of fine and imprisonment. The maximum punishment for an individual on a single RICO charge is imprisonment for twenty years (life if any of the predicate acts charged, such as murder, would permit such a punishment), and a fine of $250,000 or twice the proceeds of the offense"

(13,480 posts)Millions were poured into a high rise that has never been occupied. Ivanka Trump managed it for Trump Org. Heres an article from Crooks and Liars. https://crooksandliars.com/2020/01/ivanka-trump-azerbaijan-tower-and-money
Its a site that leans far left, but Media Bias rates their reporting as mostly factual. As I scanned this article, something interesting popped out for methe name Qasem Soleimani, the very general that Trump had assassinated in a surprise raid. Soleimani was certainly not one of the good guys, but he had been doing a lot to fight ISIS, so we had some shared goals. I never really bought Trumps reason for why he had to be killed. Perhaps theres something else behind this story. I suspect that the Trumps have been part of international money laundering and criminal elements since the late 1980s when Trumps numerous business failures meant that he could no longer get money here.
All the Trumps need to be investigated because if Donald does not run in 2024, then either Jr. or Ivanka will. We do not need another Trump in the White House ever.
