Hypothesis: Voters reward us for stoking their fears, not saving their asses

so many voters just told us they don't give a damn about a pandemic, about hundreds of thousands killed by malicious craven incompetence, or any efforts to save them from that pandemic

they care more (only) about "Antifa"

democrats keep BELIEVING if we make the effective argument we persuade voters. What is it called when your repeat the same action countless times and achieves the same results?

Though I can’t take credit to that as a born liberal I’m less inclined to fear than conservatives typically are. I certainly don’t fear change just because it’s change.

And I am a stranger to “learned helplessness,” a psychological term worth looking up, though I can’t take credit for being less vulnerable to that dysfunction because I’m female.
