He and Jane have nothing to worry about.

If they run low on food, they can always check the pantry in one of their other two homes. Now that's "privilege" isn't it.

Meanwhile... we're suffering. We're hungry.

I had recently fantasized about getting a new freezer so that we could stock-up on food... in preparation of the Covid surge that's yet to hit. But after talking it over with the Mister... we decided that we really can't afford that right now. And even though we're uncomfortable (and lonely... no visits for 9 months... thank goodness for facetime and "Zoom&quot we're really feeling the pinch but I know that there are others who are in FAR worse shape than we are.

Next to my grocery store there is a church with a weekly food pantry. Now I'm a cranky old atheist (ie: think of Ouiser in Steel Magnolias) when I have felt the "Lord calling me" to do something... and I filled up a mini-shopping-cart with essentials (less than $100) and dropped it off at the church's food pantry.

One day a week and they have LINES that tie up traffic... and still not enough to help people.

How can anyone be so CRUEL? Something is better than NOTHING!!!!
