Trump is set to hold runoff rally in Valdosta on Saturday

By Greg Bluestein, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

President Donald Trump is set to hold his rally on Saturday in Valdosta, the heart of deeply conservative South Georgia territory where Republicans hope a surge of turnout can lift U.S. Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue to runoff victories.

Trump’s 7 p.m. event at the Valdosta Regional Airport will be his first campaign rally since his November election defeat, and Republicans want him to make the case to his loyal supporters that a vote for the two Senate incumbents on Jan. 5 runoffs is the same as a vote for him.

But state GOP leaders are also concerned that his persistent false claims of a “rigged” election will dampen Republican turnout by the sending the signal that the results are already predetermined, and that his most ardent enthusiasts in Georgia will stay home without him on the ballot.

A group of 18 former Republican officials penned a letter Wednesday calling on Trump voters to return to the polls or risk a scenario where “the trajectory of our state and nation will be irreparably altered.” Others have warned his unsubstantiated allegations risk long-term damage to the GOP.

I usually cheer on the Dawgs, but I think it’s totally irresponsible to play football during a pandemic. The unmasked hordes of partying students and out of town season ticket holders have made our community much less safe by spreading the virus. KKKEMP and the UGA Athletic Association care more about football money than protecting our Pre-K to 12 students and our community.

It’s exhausting to live in Georgia this year: COVID19, online school for my kiddo, not seeing any of our family, BLM protests, the never ending elections (Nov. 3, Dec. 1,& Jan. 5), the onslaught of political ads on TV and online, my overflowing mailbox full of political mail, KKKemp & Raffensperger vs Velveeta Voldemort, ...

A good thing is that our community elected the first Latina DA in GA, Deborah Gonzalez (D-Athens). We are doing all we can to GOTV for Jan. 5. M

The deadline to register to vote in Georgia is December 7!

When we vote again, we win! 🗳🍑🇺🇸🍑🗳

Edit: There’s a good chance that MF45 will attack Kemp and Raffensperger while instructing the MAGATs not to vote in a “rigged election.” It’s gonna be a shitshow.

I’ve been down in Dalton twice over the last few months and the ads are horrendous. I heard the 3rd party attack ad on Ossoff on radio on our first visit. They turned it verbatim into a TV ad or at least I hadn’t seen it. Warnock’s dog and Thanksgiving ads are outstanding.

So I’m watching ESPN Game Day waiting to start on them leaves. Love from....Conway S.C. Coastal Carolina (mullet game is strong!) hosting BYU. Liberty* had to bail on the game so Coastal agreed to play BYU November 30th. You may have seen the story about the semi that BYU immediately sent across country. Ridiculous. It’s f’ing football for crying out loud.

* you don’t get much more 2020 than Coastal Carolina and Liberty being in the top 25 of football.

This past week, I took my kiddo to a doctor appointment in another city. I left him in the car, while I waited for him to be called for his appointment. The TV was tuned to ABC, The Kelly Clarkson daytime talk show. It was about 10:35am on a weekday. In a 15 minute period, I saw 3-4 political ads at each commercial break. I saw 3 commercial breaks.

Holy cow! There were 3rd party anti Ossoff & Warnock ads. There were Perdue & Loeffler anti Ossoff & Warnock ads. There were 3rd party anti Perdue & Loeffler ads. There were positive ads for each of the Democratic candidates from their campaigns.

Rev. Warnock’s doggo ads are absolutely brilliant!

Several of Ossoff’s feature his wife, who is an OB-GYN. Obama has a fantastic pro- Ossoff ad.

There has been a total of 313 million dollars spent on the January 5 runoff!

We watched nothing but corny Hallmark movies when we were down there for Thanksgiving. It looked like they restricted how much ad time they sold because god knows that audience is a target demographic.

BTW - Lynchburg VA (yes home of Liberty) went blue. Biden got 49% of the vote, I’m guessing Jorgeson got enoug to give Joe the plurality. I just discovered that earlier this week. Virginia keeps counties (98) and cities(35) separate.

Great things are happening in Virginia with progressive Democrats in office!

I hope that Georgia can eventually overturn the awful gerrymandering that has kept us under federal and state GOP rule for far too long. I think Stacey Abrams will run for Governor again in 2022. Whoever wins the Warnock-Loeffler Special Election will also have to run again in 2022. We’re not going to have any rest here in Georgia.

We haven’t been able to visit my kiddo’s older half-sister, her husband and their new baby, who live in Richmond, VA, because of the pandemic. They were going to travel to Georgia in January, but they couldn’t. We couldn’t go there either.
We’ve missed out on the new baby’s first year. It sucks.

Trump underperformed in most counties where he held large rallies

WASHINGTON — As the 2020 campaign wound down, President Donald Trump held rallies across the country to fire up his supporters and get them out to vote. Many saw the rallies as a sign of big enthusiasm for Trump, but the data suggest the visits did not produce the desired impact for the president.

Comparing Trump campaign stops over the last two weeks of the race to election results shows that in the overwhelming majority of cases, Trump underperformed his 2016 margins in the counties he visited, in some cases by large amounts.

There were 30 Trump campaign stops in that period, according to an NBC News tally, in states from Arizona to Nebraska to Pennsylvania. In five counties that Trump visited he saw better results than he did in 2016, but in the remaining 25 his margins of victory got smaller, his margin of defeat grew or the county flipped Democratic...

Or his ultimate call for craziness? There is no middle of the road anymore. He is either willing to accept the results and concede or he is going to say the election was illegitimate. How can he say the election was illegitimate and step away quietly?

I've avoided listening to him as much as possible over the last 4 years, mostly because it made me sad to think what was happening to our country. Now that I know the end of Trump's presidency is near, I might be able to watch with an ironic ear.

I think he'll come off as crazier than ever. The deposed dictator never reforms.
