(2,957 posts)That comment is: Just stop it. This is beneath us. If a RW'er makes any comment even close to this about any females on our side of the values proposition, we take umbrage and become unhinged with rage. And, rightly so.
Therefore, we shouldn't embrace it and promote it either - even if directed at destructive, heartless right-wing doofuses. (Or is it doofi?)
As mad as some of Melania's actions have made me (the I Don't Care jacket she wore when flying to a children's center, her tone deafness about immigration and her husband's "support" of women's rights, etc.) I still see her as a victim of Trump. She clearly hates him to death as evidenced by her not-so-subtle body language at joint public appearances and the fact that his extra-marital "dalliances" are plural and public knowledge.
I'm all in favor of brutal, nasty, profane, morally reprehensible, embarrassing, denigrating and shocking adjectives to assign to these lunatics. But expressions of denigration that apply to gender or gender stereotypes should be something we libs ought to banish from our anger toolbox. Using these expressions is a commission of hypocrisy on our part. We can't give the right wing any tools to use against us.

(61,694 posts)She chose this life.
She chose to stay with him to campaign.
She chose to keep up the façade that she's a happy FLOTUS.
She chose to promote birtherism.
She chose to do FUCKING NOTHING about kids in cages, ripped away from their parents.
Melania doesn't give a shit about anyone but herself and her spawn.
Melania doesn't hate trump enough to walk away with Barron. She won't be broke. She just wants more money like the greedy puke she is.
I think "ho" fits her pretty well.

(2,992 posts)Not all perjoratives are the same.
Some are directed at who a person is. This is true, for example, of of slurs directed against someone's race, country of origin, or gender in and of itself. These are never OK.
Most religious slurs should definitely be avoided, but whether religious persuasion is intrinsic to a person's identity or a matter of choice will vary. Antisemitic attacks are always wrong - most Jewish people see Judaism as part of their identities - but I might have strong words for a someone at Jonestown who injected cyanide into an infant because Jim Jones told him to.
Using terms like "whore" is closer to the depends-on-specifics category of denigration. The word "whore" means prostitute; most prostitutes are women, so it's not uncommon to direct the word at a woman, but men sell their bodies for sex, too. They're sometimes (though admittedly not as frequently) called whores. And the term "whore" is often used as a synonym for "sellout." In that context, I've seen it directed at Lindsey Graham, Matt Goetz, and numerous other male Republicans who appear to have attached themselves to Trump like male anglerfish to a really big female of their species.
Whether Melania is a victim of Trump is an open question. I can see that she desperately wants out of her current situation, and women in abusive relationships often indeed find it difficult to escape, but there's been no indication of actual abuse in any of the insider tell-alls. She may also be trying to stay with the grease stain that walks as a man does for the sake of her son. I don't know. But everything I've seen tells me her decision to stay with the organism she married and promote some of his worst ideals is exactly that - her decision. And I'm willing to bet the opulent lifestyle she's enjoyed while married to abomination is playing a large role in that decision.
Those who are using prostitution-related terms against Melania Trump aren't doing so because she's a woman. They're doing it because of her actions. It's based not on who she is, but what she's done, much of which verges on the definition of the word "whore."

(14,887 posts)in the inaugural day picture. When you view a longer sequence it is obvious he says something that completely rips the pasted on smile off her face. It was something purposely cruel. He took aim at a hurtful spot and hit the mark.

(31,384 posts)I'd love a Groundhog Day repeat on that one. She walks around him, knees him in his tiny little nuts, and says, "You people are crazy to have voted for this asshole!" And then walks away. Wouldn't that have been delicious?

(14,887 posts)around him. I'm sure it is relentless once he starts an abusive rant.Whenever Barron is included in the 'family' his eyes are always downcast. He never looks at king con.
Every time I see that clip I want her her to pull out a weapon and put a stop to her abuse. I imagine how mucghbetter shape we would be in if that had happened.

(11,563 posts)I also thought of a pun based on A Tale Of Two Cities, but it was vulgar, and I agree with SpankMe. Gender-based barbs are definitely not on, unless it's unavoidable, as in referencing their marriage, for example.
That being said, I'm sure you can figure out what the pun was. An alternate title?
