I heard a guest on Ali's show this morning mention his name in a complimentary way.
He was an Assistant US Attorney General under Bill Clinton.
Would he be tough enough to handle the job ahead?

She would probably get a lot of opposition from the other side?
However, I think she might be the best choice. It would be best to have someone that knows what is buried under all the rocks.

(10,895 posts)Unfortunately, Yates has baggage because she was fired by Trump. If she prosecutes him or other administration officials, they'll say it is petty revenge.
It won't be, but picking someone else is an easy way to avoid that minefield.

(10,895 posts)She's mostly on the radar because she was Interim AG and spoke out. While that's great, it also ties her to cases that may need to be prosecuted, such as the Flynn/Russia matter. She'd have to recuse.
Why not get someone equally as great who wouldn't have to recuse? There's plenty of others who are qualified.
