Vaccine opponents rebrand as rollout of Covid-19 shots looms

With weeks to go until the United States begins vaccinating people against the coronavirus, an increasingly vocal “medical freedom” movement is gearing up to fight any attempts to make the shots mandatory.

Longstanding vaccine opponents have rebranded themselves, forging alliances with religious and civil liberties groups to protest stay-at-home orders, business closures and mask mandates in recent months. They argue that those policies, designed to stop the spread of a deadly virus, violate their rights.

Now this emerging coalition, which draws from both ends of the political spectrum, is turning its attention to coronavirus vaccines — and any states or employers who might try to make getting the shots mandatory. These anti-vaccine activists are seeking to capitalize on resistance to existing public health measures along with concerns that the hunt for Covid-19 shots has been politicized.

“With a lot of focus on Covid-19, we’re hoping to get something on protection on the Covid-19 vaccine specifically,” said Stephanie Stock, president of the Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom, which opposes any type of mandatory vaccination.

Deservedly so. Many public schools will be no fly zones for unvaccinated children. I suspect most private schools will require it as well once appropriate trials have been completed on children.

Thinking of a trip? Hmm. Better be able to prove you’ve been vaccinated or else the airlines won’t let you on their planes. That’s already happening with some carriers.

Theme parks, restaurants, bars, cruise lines, movie theaters could all legally bar the unvaccinated.

I support whatever legal means necessary to squeeze these people as much as possible.

At least not here in Canada or in the UK. It hasn’t been tested or approved for babies or young children yet.

And sadly the UK has no plans of vaccinating anyone under the age of 50. Which is really fucking stupid because if you think those people are just going to sit home for years and years… They aren’t. And you can’t let them because you need that money because that you’re working age group.

When appropriate research on children and the vaccine has been completed. I have no idea what Canada’s laws are but there is a long history of public schools requiring students be vaccinated for several diseases in the US before they are allowed to complete their enrollment. It’s pretty much SOP at this point. The CV19 vax will be no different.

Also in reading the UK strategy it appears that they are placing a very low priority of vaccinating children in the initial phases but will do so later.

Way too many stupid ass hippies and conservatives get out of getting their kids a polio vax even. There are tons of kids in public schools in the US not vaccinated.

That said, it’s not even approved for kids yet so it’ll probably be years before they get one. And honestly that’s fair. We don’t experiment on children.

Whenever I hear some nitwit governor or other elected official declaim that their citizens don't need government telling them how to take care of themselves. Yeah Sparky, they do. These loud-mouth death courters don't have the least idea how to take care of themselves, but they want to jump to the head of the line for testing and treatment as soon as they show symptoms.

Then let them die sick and broke. Whatever is left of their families will pay the bills with whatever is left of their estate.

Not one of them should let me hear them whine about their self inflicted fate.

The first right ever written down was in the Declaration of Independence. It was the right to Life. And these whips are stomping all over this right.
