I always scream at Selleck "You haven't had a mortgage in 40 years!"

(53,214 posts)Like Tom Selleck ever wondered about reverse mortgages before he did these commercials.
And Tommy Lee Jones selling financial services? Its not like he's needs the money and the publicity surely can't be good for an accomplished and critically acclaimed actor. It is such a turn off.

(14,275 posts)it's really insulting. Broadway Joe appears to have taken too many tackles.

(12,004 posts)I was in the hospital for five weeks in July and August. I watched a lot of MeTV old shows from the 1960s. I saw Joe Namath multiple times a day.

(39,086 posts)all drug ads and the walk in tub ads I would be happy.
I wish there was someone that could sit down and explain all the damn Medicare supplements and Medicare Advantage
options that wasn't a damn salesperson. I don't understand them and I don't know anyone that does. They come out with that book
every year that instead of helping it confuses you. I get a Medicare Advantage from our union, they tell us how good it is. Then I talk to others that claim they pay nothing and their insurance covers things mine don't. My insurance doesn't cover all the things Broadway Joe advertises that he says is free.

(17,822 posts)This little white guy is standing and talking in front of a walk-in tub and all of a sudden, two huge black guys walk up, easily weighing 300 pounds apiece. At first you don't know what to think, and then one of the big men opens the door of the tub and each of them walks in and sits in each side of the tub. It looks hilarious, and it advertises how big the tubs are in a very concrete, memorable way. It's a great piece of advertising.

(53,214 posts)They are intentionally complicated and often misleading. Medicare itself is quite upfront and basic, but the "advantage" plans are the opposite. I hate that private insurance is involved in Medicare.

I want to slap anyone who makes these commercials. There's no freaking way you're going get back $144 on your social security. And there's no freaking way they have a free policy that includes dental, vision, rides to appointments, etc. It's totally dishonest. Joe Namath (and sadly, Danny Glover) should be ashamed of themselves.

(10,636 posts)They are just nakedly preying upon the old folks. Preying on their potential confusion about their Medicare.
I WANNA GET ALL THE BENEFITS I DESERVE!!! Just STFU, PLEASE!
THE CALL IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!!! (Really? A free phone call!?! Well, fuck, I need to call!)
