Trade Promotion Authority (Fast Track) is set to expire in July, will Congress renew it?

TPA allows the president to submit trade deals to Congress under expedited consideration, so both chambers agree to an up or down vote within a certain amount of time, the bill cannot be modified, and is immune from the filibuster in the Senate.

Presidents have had some form of this authority since 1975, but Congress allowed it to lapse between 1994 and 2002, and again from 2007 to 2015.

It is sure to be a big fight in Congress next year, with trade deals with the EU, UK, and others looming, President Biden will be sure to push for its extension.

Haven’t seen any commentary on this yet, but was just thinking of the sorts of fights we will see next year.
