I support covid restrictions but could someone explain this to me?

Garcetti is without a doubt doing the right thing with locking down L.A. as Covid is exploding again but then the city does something incredibly stupid like in this video that gives the people opposed to the restrictions ammo, this looks so bad.

He should, however, have set up an appeal process for localities to deal with these types of incongruous impacts.

The film company sets up their outdoor dining right next to hers on the day she has to close and give out last pay checks. People watching this on the news aren't going to know if the film company employees are tested or not, all they are going to see is that this outdoor dining operated by a large corporation is safe while the small business owners a few feet away isn't.

the ones set up for employees have people eating alone by themselves spread much further apart and during their break.

The restaurant dining areas were packed with people talking .

The better comparison should be to why filming is being allowed at all. Same goes for sports. Those should be shut down also.

maybe just don't join those rushing to spread this stuff. Most people don't go looking for this stuff, after all.

Also, posting without definitive information can cause more trouble than the imagined problem. Gov. Newsome's dinner at the French Laundry, for instance, turned out to be in a room that met CA requirements for outdoor dining, but those who rushed to claim it was a violation did not rush to try to repair the damage the disinformation caused. I only found out on a culinary forum where a fair number of people are familiar with the restaurant.

The French Laundry dinner was held in a restaurant but it was a private event and Newsom was advising people to limit private gatherings to no more than 3 family groups.

If I wanted to be tested I would have to wait in line then wait days for the results meanwhile I could be infected and spread. Or maybe be infected after the test and think I was clear. They are all so entitled not fair at all.

I know they use some app that they have to fill out a daily questionnaire, they get tested every morning and have their temperatures taken as they enter buildings. In the case that I know about they only have certain employees on site and they are spaced very far apart. They have to enter and exit in certain ways, avoid elevators when possible and also avoid passing in hallways. They wear masks all day and have a cleaning crew. It's very strict. They have to go through so much my friend doesn't go out for coffee anymore because of the process.

If you go out of town, they will make you work from home and isolate for the full 2 weeks and then resume testing.

.

You have secured environments with proper distancing and constant testing instead of diners who are a potpourri of COVID worried and COVID deniers/unconcerned. Most of the diners who go out to eat fall into the second category, as those really worried about contracting COVID will stay at home and limit contact with others--including food preparers.

you know, the Federal Government, who took a hard pass on anything except taking credit for work others did while spreading the ignorance and gullibility and fear virus.

The movie studio has to provide lunch space for its employees, all of them. Its keeping people employed and following CDC safety guidelines. She was, too, but her clientele, or other establishments' clientele ruined it for everyone.

This woman, and pretty much every American, ought to have gotten minimum $1200 a month to stay home until the spring vaccines roll around.
She should be crying for federal response, not angry at Garcetti.
