Maybe about a year ago, a friend recommended Mypillow to me. I did buy one and Im not that crazy about it, especially after hearing what a whack job the CEO is.
So can some of you recommend a good pillow?

(11 posts)Out of Texas..... most good B&Bs in Texas use them- when I stayed at one I was able to purchase from B&B. Wonderful pillows IMO.

(25,816 posts)I have three flat sides on my head, but it lasts and never needs washing.
From what I heard, the 'My Pillow' is just chunks of foam--a worthless scam.
The My Pillow guy has been a rapid trumper for years.
Just kidding about the 6x6--I usually sleep on the couch with a throw pillow.
Nothing disturbs my sleep except my prostate.

(102,419 posts)nor a simple pillowcase that because it wicks moisture is supposed to have a cooling effect.
I have purchased all kinds and while I can get by in the wintertime with any of my down or other traditional pillows, this side-sleeper REALLY needs a cooler solution.

(12,410 posts)and Ive found that the cheapest one at IKEA is perfect. About $2.
I hate hotel pillows because they are always so BIG.
Im 74 and sleep like a rock through the night, and I think it is mostly due to always using a very low and flat pillow. I doubt that our cave dwelling ancestors used pillows at all.

(17,994 posts)$4 on sale at Kohls. Side sleeper I have had sore shoulder and neck since buying so called Side Sleepers. I had not thrown the old ones away, just thought I needed a change. They may come back out.

(458 posts)make sure it is large enough. Down conforms to your posture unlike most foam pillows.

(4,572 posts)They're relatively expensive but worth it in my opinion. I have a king-sized one--it's good for sitting up in bed too.

(5,662 posts)anyway, I use an adjustable pillow with three inner pillows of different softness that you can move around to suit your needs. It works fairly well. We've tried so many different kids over the years. A lot of them are crap.

(22,236 posts)like trying to sleep on a bag of crumpled up cardboard pieces. I got my money back upon returning it, but I had to pay for the shipping costs which sucked. Yes, it is absolutely a scam. Worst pillow on the face of the earth.

(45,120 posts)have a seamstress make me a few pillow cases. I don't care for the one that come with it so I have a couple of zippered pillow protector cases I use, my husband is fine with the one that comes with it.

(18,486 posts)but the guy looked so weird in the picture on the display, something told me to Google him on my phone and am glad I did.

(8,059 posts)Expensive but a good pillow for my neck, plus doesn't make my head hot.

(22,236 posts)none of those hotels would ever sell me any. When I copied the manufacturing info from the tags and contacted the companies who made them, the company reps told me they only wholesaled those pillows, no retailing of them. Whenever my wife and I used to stay at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, for example, we always tried our hardest to see if someone there would sell us a couple of them but never had any luck. We've been searching for decades for a great pillow that lasts more than a few weeks.

(15,290 posts)if you have one nearby. They always have a ton of different pillows at reasonable prices. I got 2, I think they are Tommy Bahama, that are really nice.
Try putting a feather pillow on top of your mypillow to mitigate the lumpiness.

(804 posts)My husband, who is a back sleeper loves the Bear pillow. A little pricey but he says he has never slept better. in addition, it is a cooling pillow. I use a pillow from Brooklyn Bedding. It is wonderful. I use the lower profile one which works great for stomach and side sleepers. The thing I really love as well about this pillow is that it is cooling, and does not get hot overnight. I highly recommend both of these products. Good luck, because getting a good night's sleep is so very important. Both of these products offer an interest free financing with "Affirm".
