have such an experienced, rational person leading the state during a pandemic, following science and actually giving a damn about the people he was elected to govern.

He is coming under strong attacks from the right for his positions on protecting the public, but stands his ground.

6. Yes, I've heard a few that he gave

recently before deciding to schedule them regularly on M,W, and F. Some of the reporters were pretty antagonistic and he snapped back at them, so R's are whining now that Cuomo is too heavy handed. He does come across that way sometimes, but he always listens to reasonable feedback and is capable of changing course if it is warranted. Not like some R's who stubbornly dig in deeper when criticized.

I am so glad that we have Cuomo now in these difficult times.

Back in the spring, after reading an article about his pressers, I signed up for a daily update on covid 19 news from Cuomo's office. I am still getting it regularly on weekdays in my e-mail so I know where the state and my region stand. Unfortunately, here in western NY we have the highest case numbers in the state now. I could see it coming and have stocked up so I can stay home except for occasional quick, in and out purchases for perishables as needed.

7. I've heard the governor described as our "national leader" on the pandemic

Which is why Trump has a resentment. But Cuomo stepped up when we needed him and refused to back down. And I signed up for his updates, too.
