My nephew and family are sick.

Normal winter sickness? Flu? Cold?

Who knows anymore. The 4 year old goes to preschool. She was tested today and is negative. Daddy, a teacher, will be tested tomorrow along with mom. The baby may be tested as well, she is 1 and a half.

This is where we are now and it is terrifying. A sniffle may be nothing or not.

Like everyone here, I miss my family.

I wish the best to each and everyone of you.

45 more days with trump doing his best to kill us all.

We worried that he would start a war. We never imagined it would be one on the american people. He knew it was a deadly virus and he did nothing. Nothing.

My sister and I take care of a 94 year old.

Since March I have gone through two tanks of gas. Two. Most groceries are delivered. Some things you just have to go out for...very carefully.

Thank you and I wish the very best to you and yours, DR.

Dirrhea, sniffles, slight headache, some muscle aches, sore throat, slight cough, exhaustion, just a very blah feeling. 3 PCR tests in as many weeks, all negative.
Three to five days of just being miserable and sleepy. Then, back to some semblance of normal.

We drank a lot of tea with lemon and honey for the duration, seemed to aleviate the symptoms. This bout of common cold difnt change our COVID protocols.

My heart is with them for it not to be COVID.

I can't see my littles and my daughter anymore, either. My mom has to go to the doctor a lot now, and I can't stay isolated like I could before a visit. Which makes me the not safe link. I miss my family so very much. Especially this time of year. I just keep fixing up the girls room pretending they'll be here soon to see it.

I'm going to be worried, and I'm sure many more of us here will be as well.

The younger they are the less chance of severe reaction to the virus. Keep that in the front of your mind.

There was essentially no flu season in the Southern hemisphere this past (for them) winter, and so far I simply haven't seen any reports of flu in this country.

Why? you ask? Think about it. Yes, think about it. Where does influenza come from every year? Okay. How many people have been travelling from that country recently?

Here's the thing with flu. It comes out of China each and every year. And it's not just some sort of benign coincidence. It's because of the way that country raises pigs and water fowl. The two pass influenza viruses back and forth, mutating like crazy, and infecting the rest of the world. If we could get China to make a few changes in how they do some things, influenza would stop being such a world terror.

Meanwhile, this year, because of the Covid-19, which also came out of China, and that should not be underplayed, and the concomitant change in travel from China, influenza in the rest of the world has essentially come to a screeching halt. Huh. How weird is that?

So, whatever your nephew and family are sick with, it's highly unlikely to be flu. It could be any number of other things, but depending on contact with other people, is more likely to be colds than anything else.

Do keep in mind that our immune systems work best when frequently challenged by various things.

Last Sunday had a fever over 100. My normal temperature is 97.5. Haven’t had a fever that high in 25 years. Got tested twice. Negative both times.

Was well by the time I took my second test.

Hopefully it is just the normal crud.

Earlier this week I had low fever for a day and felt yucky, tired, sneezing, stuffed up, but because I know my body I realized I was fighting beginning of sinus infection which was caused by making fires everyday. So I did my nasal rinses, hot wash cloths, etc and I feel fine.

Meanwhile few days later hubby gets sick, worse than me but not sinus, some kind of ? Of course he won't call his doctor since he could breathe fine. So I basically locked him in guest room and treated him like the plague for 2 days until he leaped up and felt fine!

Afterwards I am a mental anxiety wreck from trying to stay away from him and keep bathroom perfect and germ free and him in bed with me running back and forth getting everything.

I kept thinking what would I do if we really had it?

I remember those early days of the virus where I used to stress out about having to go to the supermarket and possibly being exposed to the virus. It's horrible. I wish you all lived here where restrictions have been lifting and the virus is pretty much contained and I'm starting to miss life under Covid where people don't invade my personal space and I don't have to turn down invites to go out because they stopped as nothing was open. Try to be as safe as you can until the vaccine in rolled out...
