Get ready to change the channel and stop giving Donald Trump the attention he craves

How about we all try to dial back posts about Trump? When we feel the urge (and we do have to give into it now and again, of course), find something to say about the new administration, or world politics, or the best way to cleam a coffee maker. Ignoring him is the best revenge.

There was a post yesterday, which I can't find now, which said "Trump" is mentioned more times in DU subject lines than "Biden." Perhaps that author could give us regular updates every few days? I don't know how they collected the statistics.

As we near the end of the Trump presidency, the conversation is naturally shifting to what happens next, to our country, to Donald Trump, and to the Republican Party. For his part, Trump is already floating the notion of running for the Republican nomination in 2024. There is also speculation that he intends to start a media company to compete with Fox News.

Ultimately though, as has always been the case, the chief objective for Trump is to maintain his hold on the news media. The only question going forward is will the news media continue to act as Trump’s chief promoter?

For years, Trump has labeled the news media the “enemy of the people,” but what has been painfully transparent is that he desperately craves the attention and the acceptance of the very news outlets he routinely assails.

I get it. Their strategy can influence our strategy. But, why breathlessly analyze the NEXT Presidential election when Biden has not even been sworn in?

Whenever CNN/MSNBC decides they want to spend hours talking about the Has Been, I turn them off.

I have found myself watching the news much less than I have for the past few months.

As for Trump, I'll stop discussing him when he stops becoming newsworthy. That'll be when he stops being President.

Jan. 20th is just 45 days away. trump thinks he'll still get major coverage in the news but his luster will dull—except for the coverage of his legal and creditor problems of course. Which I welcome.

12. If you really think Trump likes people saying what a pathetic loser he is, I'll happily oblige him.

?

That doesn't sound like "attention and acceptance" to me, but who cares what Trump craves anyway? The important issue is what the public believes about Trump.
