A former Alabama state senator died of Covid-19 last week at age 78, officials said.

Former Sen. Larry Dixon, a Republican who also served as the executive director of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners, died from Covid-19 on Dec. 4, the board said in a statement on Friday.

Dr. David Thrasher, a close friend of Dixon and a pulmonologist in Montgomery, told NBC News that Dixon's wife, Gaynell Dixon, told Thrasher that his last words to her were a prescient warning to the people of Alabama.

“We messed up, we let our guard down,” Dixon said, according to Thrasher. “Please tell everybody to be careful. This is real, and if you get diagnosed, get help immediately.”

Nope, I don't see any concern in there. It is amazing how a Republican has to be on his deathbed to realize that they "messed up."
It really wasn't "messing up" when others were dying.

A lot of people get sick and die, while trying to be safe and follow guidelines. Those who don't bother to protect themselves and those around them can look for sympathy in the dictionary. It is located somewhere between the words shit and syphilis.

It is like the mega church preacher who just died after refusing to follow the guidelines. They are now planning a big funeral for him. They are inviting Mr. Darwin as a guest speaker.

btw, that’s for the Rugged Plastic Metal of Freedom actual Metal is as we all know Very Expensive these days so they’re Priced Accordingly -- $129.99 for metal-plated and $229.99 for the solid (fool’s) Gold (were you expecting any less?). either way, a Tremendous value from a Great American: trumpf – for a Day or for a (much-shortened) Lifetime.

No, your party politicized it and encouraged their supporters to flaunt the advice of people who actually cared about you and them, despite the policy differences.

and to this day, they think it's "just like a 'cold' or 'the flu'".

Still haven't heard a peep out of Ben Carson since about the 3rd week of November.
