What's her source? Or what reason do we have to believe that she's a reliable source on her own accord?

I don't know about Jackie's vision, or if she had one, but I bet Dr. Jill has her own vision which will work quite nicely.

Melania didn't really care about it. BTW they killed off some really good plantings and
some roses whose lines went back over 140 years.

And yes Jackie had a vision for the rose garden and had a really good L.A. do the design work
on it and the construction was overseen by the person who went on to be one of the top persons
@ the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

The work that Trump had done last summer was awful and they punctured the drain tiles and so they
had to go back in redo the drainage with in a few weeks.

That was as bad a job as a cut-rate property manager would do when they got a one-month notice that the absentee landlord was going to come by for the first time in five years.
I saw better sod laying by a neighbor's college kid and his slacker buddies come home for spring break doing a favor for Dad for some extra pocket money when he went back. Fewer gaps; one of the kids had a bit of a clue about putting down cheap Home Depot fescue blend.
That lawn only began to develop patches after five months.

Annuals are easy to switch out. It will be a bit more difficult with new trees (I don't think they can replace the crabapples), and the changes in drainage due to the new walkways will need to be addressed.

... but more important is to restore a sense of beauty and gracious-ness for OUR house ...
... I think too often we forget what art and music contribute to our mental well being and souls ...
... I want the president to be able to step away from the desk to a serene place of beauty and color to restore his focus ..
(you do remember, with the exception of these last 4 yrs the person behind the desk actually WORKED)

I want the crab apples back personally, or new trees planted to replaced the aged, and even if the wider, properly graded walks were long badly needed, I'm not crazy about how they look.

But this is not a Melania Massacre. She's just doing a Trump and claiming credit for something she had no power over. She was an "honorary" chair.

The work was carried out by Oehme, van Sweden and Associates and Perry Guillot Inc., two award-winning American firms, under the direction of the 14-member Committee for the Preservation of the White House and the three-member Committee for the Preservation of the White House Grounds, plus 10 external advisers. ... among them the grounds committee’s Leslie Greene Bowman, the president of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation; Richard C. Nylander, the curator emeritus of Historic New England; and Thammanoune Kannalikham, the low-profile White House interior designer.

As for Jackie Kennedy’s vision, the WH and grounds had been aesthetically neglected for a long time, and she restored much of the look a garden of the WH's 18th century design should have. She added those crabapples and other trees, but all within the original design layout. All refurbishings, before and after hers, have honored the original design -- again, as decided on by committees of historic preservationists and garden designers and approved by the congressional committee that oversees and approves all this stuff.

I doubt this. I do not think that Dr. Jill Biden would involve herself in an acrimonious move like this and before even moving into the White House! This sounds like an inflated rumor to stir up divisions.
