Over Harris, Biden & Trump

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for President in 2024?
Naturally, odds for the next election cycle almost always favor the opponent, in this case Joe Biden, or the current Vice President, shared Dave Mason of BetOnline.ag.
But while the 2024 Presidential Election odds list Kamala Harris as the most probable option, AOC is getting the most love from early bettors.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the U.S. Representative from New York's 14th congressional district might not see her name on any ballot this November, but sports bettors have appointed her as the early Presidential front runner in 2024.

I don't see people voting for someone that young for POTUS.
Obama, Clinton, and Kennedy were young, but the were well over 35 and held public office for quite some time.
I just don't think she can win because of age & experience. Her constituents may love her, but that's not going to win a nationwide election.

In short, the Forbes article is linkbait containing false information.
Kamala is the favorite in that market and I posted a different ranking from another betting site in my previous comment, where Joe Biden is number one.
Autumn
(48,962 posts)We listed Kamala as the favorite simply because its difficult to fathom an 82-year-old on the campaign trail.
Perhaps you should trash the thread.

(71,542 posts)I don't see her ever running for president unless demographics really do arrive. On the bright side, being in the House is a good thing. Do you really think she could win blue wall states?
Autumn
(48,962 posts)I believe it all depends on the politician and the circumstances. What plays well in WV won't play well in NY. But many people have won elections in deep blue, purple or red states when they are neither. I believe she could win. Easily
Cameliano
(54 posts)Are you denying that Alexandra or Casio Cortez is 10th in that list? Did you visit the link, or do you want me to show you a screenshot of the rankings?
Forbes' statement about ocasio-cortez being number one is false
Autumn
(48,962 posts)most probable option, while AOC is getting the most love from early bettors. Did you notice that the AOC for President? was in the form of a question?
You are free to contact Zack Jones at Fobes and let him know that he is wrong. He wrote about information he got from Dave Mason of BetOnline.ag. Perhaps if he is wrong he will issue a correction. Or re write it in a manner you find suitable.
Cameliano
(54 posts)As you can see AOC is not at the top.
You fell for a linkbait article with false information and that's okay.
Autumn
(48,962 posts)who AOC is, not just NY. I don't gamble but I'm sure that nothing stays the same in betting. You can post the one from your link if you want, no one is stopping you.
Demsrule86
(71,542 posts)You must inject a little political reality in elections. I doubt she wins a primary; a person who can win the blue wall states will be nominated. It would be political suicide to do otherwise.

I feel she won't have anywhere near enough experience in government by 2024 to be president. Later on, depending on her track record, sure, I'd consider her.

There is no evidence that she could win a national election unless she can win a statewide election

(5,068 posts)And that way AOC won't be damaged presidential goods and maybe, just maybe, in 10 or 20 years the almost 1/2 of this country that are closer to Neanderthals than 21st Century humans will be ready for some good new ideas (or dead) and vote accordingly. We have to be realistic about what and who can win a majority of the electorate in whatever race we are talking about. We should certainly have discourse amongst ourselves of what is best for the country, but we'll only be able to make those changes if we win elections and have a governing majority and the bully pulpit.

(13,431 posts)AOC has a lot to learn before she can be president and I don't think she will even old enough then to run. Can we just get this election over before all this speculation, I cannot even believe anyone even wants to talk about another election right now. Aren't you all tired yet?

Bev54
(13,431 posts)more experience now. I think that is what Biden is planning on. He is putting in experienced people now because they have such a mess to clean up and there is no time for on the job training but if he puts some of the younger ones in to places that give them the experience for future jobs, perhaps in the next admin and years to come they will be ready to take over.

(12,533 posts)On November 6th, Zack Jones listed AOC's chances as 1 in 25. Kamala Harris was then on the top of the heap.
Which is why sports bettors may not be the best predictive market to hang hope on.
Tell you who will celebrate this prediction:
REPUBLICANS.

(1,102 posts)Biden and Harris haven't even served a day in office yet and already people are predicting who will run in 2024? Maybe we should let our President Elect and his VP do their jobs before we talk about replacing them. Life in the U.S. has become one long, unending election cycle.
