The real "miracle" would have been believin' science instead of Trump.

(3,699 posts)I am floored by these people who, suddenly when they or theirs get sick, call out for help and miracles. Before that, they were screw everyone else and no help or even verbal support for earlier Covid victims. Every day I am more and more appalled by the sheer level of selfishness and insensitivity shown by these 'hoaxers'. I personally don't think he should be allowed on a ventilator. Save it for someone who became ill in spite of trying to protect themselves and others.

(14,861 posts)for the tens of thousands of residents of the hard-hit blue states who found themselves on ventilators, or worse. I suspect he didn't spend much time pleading with his god for miracles to save them.

Like I keep saying:
A conservative says, "It hasn't happened to me, so I don't care."
A liberal says, "It shouldn't happen to anyone, that's why I care."
DFW
(54,445 posts)Taking a page from his own rhetoric, he should forego the care, and only seek medical care for ailments that are not the result of a "political agenda."
I have no place in my heart for politicians who mock people who die because the politicians are scoring political points by mocking the very ailment that later returns to threaten their own lives. When Byrd goes on national television, hooked to an oxygen tank, begging the forgiveness of the people of Tennessee and America, telling them that he and the Republican Party have pulled an unforgivable scam on their constituents, that it caused the deaths of tens of thousands of them, and that he urges people never to give the Republican Party another vote for as long as they live--only THEN could I will take his "remorse" seriously. Until then, I treat this as more theatrics, and I fully realize that some Republicans are so crazy that they would rather die than publicly admit what they have done.

Probably not the same thing, huh?
