"Biden can't do that", "Biden can't do this", "Biden can't fire _____"...EFF THAT!

After what we've witnessed over the past 4 years, I have no fucks to give for people who quote fucking "rules, norms, or even laws" that President Biden MUST follow.

Some of the shit I've seen here on DU, for example;

Biden can't fire DeJoy because, blah, blah, blah

Biden can't appoint "acting" cabinet members because blah, blah, blah

Biden MUST respond to Retrumplicans requests because, blah, blah, blah

Fuck all of that shit. I'm tired of being the ONLY fucking party that respects rules and norms!

After this election shitshow, it should be fucking clear to EVERYONE on the fucking planet. We either beat the everloving snot out of the Retrumplicans Party and fucking destroy it, or we get the snot beat out of us and destroyed.

There's no fucking middle ground anymore.

The Retrumplicans understand this...its time Democrats start to understand that too.

We look for the middle ground, we believe that is were things can happen. We believe that our country is based on the middle ground. We so want to believe that the world hasn't irrevocably change over the last 4 years. The middle ground was our ground. We knew how to use it and we used it well...at least until the other side decided we were woosie little sniveling cowards who could be beaten to dust there in the middle ground.

And we let it happen because we really, really, really believed in the middle ground. WRONG.

There is middle ground only if BOTH sides agree there is. If one side says FU to the other side the middle ground disappears. It is trampled under foot and drowned out so that nothing really remains. It is a figment of our imagination. It doesn't really exist anymore. It really never existed but we believed in it so hard that we kept it going way past its death.

It became sort of a zombie middle ground. Only one side believed in it. Now we have to let it go. But how do those of us who believe in democracy and the democratic process let go of the middle ground? It's like letting go of everything we hold dear.

I don't know. I just know that the future depends on us finding a different approach.

Damn, I thought my retirement years were going to be boring.

No more middle ground. The GOP has used the middle ground to get what they want, not what the country and its citizens need. They have used our willingness to meet and compromise to destroy democracy. That is something I will never forgive them for. They used our willingness to be 'good' to wound and destroy us.

I'm not arguing for the middle ground any more. I'm pissed that I was used. I'm pissed that our what we thought were our best efforts to make democracy work were used to wound and destroy it. I'm pissed.

No more middle ground. Time to make the country work for the 90%! Yes, I'm with you.

If he can't get appointments through the Senate, he may have to appoint "acting" people. What's he going to do...go without an attorney general?

He can respond to Republican requests with, "That's interesting. No. Thank you for your input." There. He listened and responded.

As to all the, "We must destroy the Republican party." Just how do we propose to do that? Are we going to shoot them? Are we going to pass a law that makes it illegal to be a Republican or donate to the party? Are we going to remove their desks from the chambers of congress and make them stand out in the hall? Are we going to nuke their headquarters?

As long as people vote for them, we're stuck with them. I'm sure if it was possible to destroy a party, they would have done it to us by now.

Thu Dec 10, 2020, 07:04 PM
Dec 2020

As I understand it, and I could be wrong, there are 3 openings at present. Biden can fill them and then have DeJoy fired by the BoG. Alternatively, DeJoy could be indicted by the DoJ for crimes related to mail tampering - and possibly financial crimes - as the “practices aimed at streamlining” the USPS were 1) nothing but blatant, partisan attempts to slow the mail and help tRump in the election and 2) excuses to give contracts to his old company (and this enrich himself by increasing his stock value).

I’m no legal expert, so I’ll leave it up to others as to whether or not prosecution for #2 is possible. But, I have seen people with more legal knowledge than I have recommend a perp walk for #1.

Dec 2020

Get rid of Trump rules and make new rules that support the Constitution and eliminate non-Democratic (I mean the theory and not the party) processes that are clearly anti-Constitutional. This will obviously upset the venture capitalists but who the fuck cares. They don't care about me and I don't care about them. Screw them all. Let all those who oppose 'socialist' programs not take part. Don't accept government assistance in the form of Medicaid or Social Security or Unemployment. Drop the fuck out. Pay them back what they put into the system that they deplore and bar them from any future participation. There won't be any more that die on the streets than those the Trumpsters have killed. Those who are making the most noise, I am convinced are those who are sucking the biggest government tits. I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them. I understand (and even appreciate) propaganda, but it must be understood as not truth, just as fiction whether on television or in books is not truth. Just because you don't like something or don't believe in something doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. No more lady or the tiger. Let the tigers out and let them feast on these assholes. No doubt about it, the deep red party has declared war on American democracy. The blue states and blue areas within red states must ban together and only do business with each other. Boycott all deep red states when possible. Biden's AG must investigate and prosecute. If Senate is won, change rules, get DC as a state. Other countries who are our allies must also try to destroy any Trump businesses on their shores.

We are at war.
