There are too many rotten people with positions of power

The Constitution, other laws, and our institutions were written under the belief that we would have honorable noble people in office who would put country over their beliefs and their parties beliefs and if we had a few rotten people the system would be able to handle it and flush them out. But unfortunately it seems like there are waaay more than a few that are rotting at every level.

The USA is on the verge of becoming a dictatorship. Republicans no longer have any intention of participating in democracy. Their goal is total power, and once they obtain it, they will not relinquish power except by force.

The drafters may have had a little too much faith that voters would recognize and reject any con men or self-serving pretenders who might subvert their new government of, by, and for The People. They did quite a bit to anticipate potential problems but nevertheless they couldn't predict how badly it might be gradually corrupted over a couple hundred years.

the first time. But how in the living hell does someone like McConnell, or Graham, or my utter dipshit congressman Paul Gosar keep getting re-elected year after year, almost like they are granite statues embedded into the walls of the halls of Congress?
