My guess is Chump has been contacting and schmoozing SC members, I don't put anything past him including bribing.
This shits getting to be to much....talk me down!

(21,640 posts)there is nothing more than a filing based on innuendo.
it will lose 9-0.

(6,559 posts)Even Kavanaugh. The only thing that will work is dirt, and he's likely the only one with enough to get him impeached. Their best bets for their own future (to say nothing of the precedent it wouls set), is to tell the idiots to go F off.

(26,366 posts)that's happening (50+ lawsuits already) will make you overly anxious.
Don't pay too much attention to what's going on in the next few weeks.
Biden will be the next President.

(115,887 posts)and the president who appointed you was going around bragging about how he's counting on the justices he appointed, including you, to "do the right thing" for him, and then maybe he's even contacted you to remind you, subtly or otherwise, that you owe him ("I need you to do us a favor, though" ), how would you feel? Insulted? I'd sure feel insulted. But you've been appointed for life and there's nothing he can do to punish you if you don't rule in his favor. Do you trash your own reputation and that of the Supreme Court by giving him a win in a case that every single legal expert in the country who's not a legal whore for Trump has condemned as trivial at best and seditious at worst? Even the most conservative of the justices has no reason to destroy the legitimacy of the Court in order to help Trump in a situation where there is and can be no quid pro quo. I'm not worried.

(3,960 posts)It would Be outlandish for even one to not deny this. And as far as the trump appointees go, they owe him nothing. These are lifetime appointments, once they are In theyre in for life. The lead cultist can do nothing to retaliate against them.

(12,682 posts)The PA SG's response actually cites Bush v Gore several times (probably to slap Kavanaugh, who had made some sort of mumbles at the beginning of this whole election shitshow on how B v G might be used...) and breaks down that ruling along with a host of others as reasons why the Texas appeal is idiotic and a waste of time.
The SG also makes it clear that should the SC even pretend there might be any merit to this filing, they can expect to be slammed with hundreds of lawsuits like this every four years by every state in the Union.
That in itself is reason for the SC to drop this whole sorry case into the burning dumpster that is 2020.

(37,163 posts)...and their judges that Trump put on the court, but endlessly propping up Trump is not among them.
So, no, I don't think those justices will do the "right" thing. But when it comes to Trump... their loyalty is not to him. It's to the much more than "conservative" ideology for which the FS groomed them for the courts. They'll make sure to have the government back on your back unless you're a business, but will they put their stamp of approval on the banana peels, styrofoam burger-boxes, and rotting lettuce that constitute the challenges on Trump's behalf?
Unlikely. They have what they wanted. It'd be great if they could get more, but someone needs to be thrown overboard, and it won't be people who don't answer to the Republican Ahab base.

(12,604 posts)nervous and depressed about the current situation. I'm afraid even if Trump does not win at the SCOTUS, he will go on and on till somehow he wins.
His evil is not to be taken lightly, and this is not just losing to the other side; this is death to a whole way of life.

(12,344 posts)They decided a few cases against Trump prior to the election, showing their independence . After the election, they already turned down two chances to step in. This cases is even dumber than the two stupid cases they already refused.

(18,486 posts)This case makes the previous cases look like Brown v. Board. If they bounced those out, they're not going to rule favorably in this one.

(10,269 posts)But as has been said, there is no case, and while some of them have nefarious agendas those agendas cant be forwarded if the fabric of the federal government collapses, which is what would happen if they tried giving the election to trump. All those sycophants who have been pushing these ridiculous ideas dont want to remain under his thumb, which is what would happen if they give in to him. I suspect many of them are going this far exactly because they know there is no chance, but are willing to keep the clock running to keep him occupied for a few more weeks. Once hes been told once and for all its over and theres nothing he can do hes going to do his best to burn the US to the ground and Putin will be happy to see that happen.
