I just figured out why Mitch is blocking stimulus checks.

Fear of Covid spread is not the only thing hurting businesses. It's also the fact that people don't have money to spend in those businesses.

So, what is Mitch's benefit in increasing the hardship for everyone?

Answer: Everything. The more the public gets angry, the more they become a massive swell of public opinion that the Republicans can exploit. Republicans will be the first to frame the issue, because they always are. That's just a fact. And that ground swell benefits them because they can then do the insane things they're doing now. Including scaring everyone because "The Democrats are going to steal Christmas!"

People are so desperate that they are just going to sit back and watch as the malicious actors show them how they should be responding.

I strongly suggest that the Democrats get a move on and takeover the headlines on this. Instead of "The Democrats are going to steal Christmas!" How about, "Mitch McConnell is stealing Christmas like the Grinch!!"

This has been Republicans playbook from at least Reagan. When they are in power they spend like a drunken sailor and then convince the little guy that it was all for them when in actuality it was for the wealthy and powerful. Of course this ends up tanking the economy, pisses people off so Democrats win. Then the Repubs become fiscal conservatives and say the Democrats can't spend on their programs because 'how or we going to pay for it'. Since Democrats get stuck with instituting more austerity in order to bring the economy back in line they get blamed. Most the time the Democrats have the economy moving in the right direction but the Repubs win anyway. From there it is just 'rinse and repeat'.

Which gives them opportunities to exploit, enslave, and punish all others. It is part of their scorched earth mentality to dictate over everyone and kill what they do not want. For Christ's sake, how long do people in this fucked up myth of an alleged country have to keep seeing this enormous crash and burn scenario play out before they finally understand and VOTE every Republican FRAUD out of power forever?

Moscow Mitch is just the latest smarmy bastard Republican that destroys everything, because he has been clever at grooming his evil deeds for the wealthy elite, foreign or domestic. Until the rest of you figure out that there are no compromises with Vulture Capitalism and permanently cripple it, then NOTHING will ever change. The Democratic Party should be scolding our alleged press and media for not exposing what is really going on in this country and reporting it accurately, instead of their talking head financial portfolios. Always!!! And when the Biden Administration takes power, the first thing that needs to be done is to rip the curtain off of what in the Hell the Republicans have destroyed and defrauded with Donald Dumbass playing bigly chief... Expose all of their seditious, traitorous, treasonous, and criminal activities making every one of them want to flee the country in shame and horror of being sighted in public.

Do NOT fucking help the Republican Party pull their shit together, just to come back again next time with more power. No help should be offered to them, unless they are barely clinging to even get any of them on the ballot everywhere. Maybe then they will grow the fuck up!

YES, I'm shouting. But for Pete's Sake! We've been looking at this and watching this for decades! It's the MESSAGING!!! And why Democrats are so slow on the uptake on this one just absolutely confounds me. WHY don't they think this is important? WHY are they okay with letting the enemy frame the issue? I guess they must be okay with it because I never see ANY effort aimed at shaping strategic messaging from our folks. Seems clear that it's just not ever been a priority with our gang.

They'll accept lower wages, fewer benefits, poorer working conditions. They won't complain about sexual harassment or unequal pay. They won't risk unionizing. High unemployment is EXTREMELY valuable to large, multinational corporations. Remember, these same corporations pay slave wages to workers overseas. They'll always try to exploit workers and when there are literally thousands of applicants for a single job, corporations win.

Also, small business failure reduces competition for larger companies.

McConnell is wholly owned by these large multinational corporations. Poverty, hunger, and homelessness is by design.

I don't know why the Democrats don't point out this fact about mismanaged governments:

In some Latin American countries, 10% of the population owns 90% of the wealth and resources. I know, because i grew up in Panama. The Canal Zone provided jobs that helped a middle class rise in Panama and improved the situation.

So, why the hell aren't the Democrats pointing the fact that his 10/90 split is the grand plan for Republicans? Instead they wail around trying to claim they aren't socialist.

So stupid. Wake up Democratic leadership.

and how do elected officials affect those? Seems to me there's a whole lot of people putting out copious amounts of bad info, and none of them are Republican seat-holders. Yet to combat the internet, the radio, the cable shows...somehow it falls to elected Democrats to stop what media-conglomerates do. How does that happen? Millions of people should be able to figure this out, but there doesn't seem to be any way forward without control over enough of the government that laws can be enacted that affect media ownership. Otherwise, it seems like the 'third-way', is the only way out. More money in politics to buy interests that will challenge the right wing. Is there enough money out there?, and what could the Democrats provide the uber-wealthy that their right-wing counterparts have not achieved? Years ago, I used to make up fliers of information about what was going on that the print media covered, if you had time to look for it, but the television had none. So I'd put my fliers at supermarkets, doctors offices, libraries, etc., Maybe someone read them, maybe not, but I gave up. The problem then...2002(?) is no different now. Strongly suggesting my Representative do what those with massive wealth have done, to promote a perception is the same as me with my fliers going up against Murdoch. I'm no Roger Stone, and neither are my Representatives.

I remember Trump saying things like “If Biden wins, he’s gonna shut down Thanksgiving and Christmas.”

They know what they are doing, always. They constantly deflect anger onto Democrats. It’s what Rush has done for 25 years. There is a chunk of America which *wants* to believe their bullshit, no matter how stupid or illogical it is.

Republicans never want the populace to be happy, because happy people vote Democratic. Republicans thrive on anger, because I believe they are constantly angry themselves. And, like you said, anger can be exploited. They are experts at anger-and-fear manipulation.

It’s a dangerous game they play because some people will allow themselves to be totally taken in by these psycho manipulators. And, as we all know, that anger can get destructive. Republicans consistently damage the country and depend on Democrats to fix it, all the while convincing the country it was Democrats who did the damage.

Democrats desperately need a messaging wing just to combat these type of propaganda operations Republicans pull off. Yes, “Mitch, the Grinch!” Perfect!
