how republicans can claim fraud in the potus election while claiming down-ballot gains are legit:
there have been many posts and articles and media discussion wonder about the stupidity/hypocrisy of republicans somehow claiming fraud in the presidential election while at the same time claiming the republican wins for other offices on the same ballots were completely legitimate.
we all know this to be true be are afraid to say it because the implications are staggering.
what the believe is that the votes for democrats were illegitimate *because they were votes for democrats*.
they have always believed the black people were non-human, illegitimate, or less than fully human.
they have always believed that immigrants were non-human, illegitimate, or less than fully human.
they have always believed that anyone with a hint of a spanish accent or spanish-sounding name is is non-human, illegitimate, or less than fully human.
and the democratic party is the party of such people, and other groups they similarly look down on, such as the poor.
so the entire democratic party and its candidates are similarly illegitimate in their eyes. all of us. we're not real americans in their eyes. they're the real americans, if you ask them. we're the frauds. so our votes shouldn't count, from their point of view.
that's how they can see an illegitimate election at the presidential level and a legitimate election down-ballot.
because at the presidential level, a democrat won. and that, to their minds, is illegitimate.
not only is this staggering in terms of what it says about our failing democracy, it also means we're remarkably close to a full-blown genocide. they really are not far off at all from dehumanizing us enough to outright feel justified in outright killing us.
