After noticing increased shipping times this last week I found this warning posted on USPS tonight

ALERT: USPS IS EXPERIENCING UNPRECEDENTED PACKAGE INCREASES AND LIMITED EMPLOYEE AVAILABILITY DUE TO THE IMPACTS OF COVID-19.

They have been sabotaged by tRump and covid, wondering just how long they can hold on. By the way, as UPS & Fedex work to ship vaccines nation wide we need USPS more than ever. I hope there is massive prison time for the fascists who have put peoples lives at stake by trying to destroy this American institution.

If most people are like me, they are doing all their holiday shopping online (except in some instances where curbside pickup is available). I’m lucky that all my presents are for Hanukkah, so I started earlier and haven’t had too much trouble with shipping.

But online sales, together with shipping, have gone through the roof this year, due largely to COVID.

I hate shopping for gifts online. But it’s the sanest thing to do this year. And everyone is doing it.

Not that I disagree with the election blocking shenanigans you describe, but they would be cautioning about less nger than normal delivery times anyway.

My package went to Springfield Massachusetts first I finally got it two weeks late.

Last year, I paid for express shipping from California. My package bypassed Oregon but finally turned around at the Canadian border

My husband ordered a case of TP and it was delivered to an address in Rhode Island. The seller refunded him.

So yeah, allow for lots of extra time, especially if it's a gift

In spring, there was a mail-theft issue and I got back the torn envelope but not the check. So I switched to having my bank send the payment (which still is sent thru the mail) and 17 days after it should have been mailed, I got a call saying it never arrived. A piece of mail going from the suburb to a city mailbox. I put a stop payment order in, wrote a new check and ran it to the local branch of the credit union that holds the loan.
I am disgusted with what has happened to a great American institution.
