What would be your advice to Obama for the next debate?

Mine would be: Don't let this sucker bully you! Don't let Romney talk over you or interrupt you, or try and "manhandle" you. I understand you have to appear presidential, but you can't let this kind of thing happen, it makes you look weak.

What would your advice be to Obama?

Did you see who will be the moderator for the next debate? Human hemorrhoid Candy Crowley.

If you think Jim Lehrer sucked last night because he didn't lift a finger to shut Romney the fuck up, Don't even bother to watch the next one. Lehrer at least appeared neutral but ineffective, Crowley will be actively partisan. I'd be surprised if she doesn't cut the president off more than once.

Not to the moderator or Romney. look directly into the camera and speak to it as if he is explaining the issue to Malia. Yes, I know Malia is a teenager, but she is probably intellectually at a slightly higher intellectual level than the average voter. I think this would lead to him c0onnecting amazingly with people and explaining things very well.

The exception is that he also has to listen to Romney and call him on the bigger of his distortions - as Kerry did with Bush on Saddam.

I don't think he should morph into Grayson or Michael Moore. That would be treated as it was when Gore was completely different in the three debates. (Bush was too, but there is no Democratic echo chamber to trash him. )

Should have him repeating "no Governor Romney, that is accurate. Do you not stand behind the current plan you are proposing to the people of the United States" until the next debate. I think that should have been said after each time Romney said, "no Mr. President, that isn't accurate."

After Romney disavows one more of his own ideas, one long cool look for the length of Mitt Romney, and one question, "Who are you and what did you do with Mitt Romney?"

Would be devastating. Not wonky policy-wise, but would define Mitt's character in the space of 30 seconds. It would draw blood.

Then ask him if his handlers are going to have to change most of his answers after the debate again.

Of course, in the next format, Romney's rudeness would kill him. So what the press is praising can't happen in that format, lest he be hammered for doing what he's being praised for doing now.

It's a funny thing.

Every time Romney says something opposite of what he's already said before, shake the Etch A Sketch.

ETA: A good comic could reduce the audience to helpless tears with that setup.. I think Obama has the timing to do it.

But then I'm a bigger asshole than Obama.

Walk over to Rmoney's lectern and rip up his cheat sheet and ask him to wing it if he can't do it without the cheat sheet.

Or hide a camera overhead Rmoney and watch his hands go wild AND using the cheat sheet.
