The Judiciary has held.
Well have many more fights, frustrations, and disappointments. But in this very important instance, our Judiciary has been strong and held.
But it was a joint effort. Dedicated activists, skilled lawyers and, most important, undaunted, unafraid, and unbowed VOTERS pulled together and forced democracy to work. Yes, there were many problems, suppression, intimidation, but in the end, the Judiciary came through and we prevailed.

(16,935 posts)It crossed my mind last night that we were depending on 9 people to hold the line. And thank God they held the line.

(16,935 posts)I read a sci-fi story once, where all of the refinement in polls made it possible for 1 person to be picked, and that one person perfectly represented how the whole country would vote. I remember he was thinking of what he should do, that reporters and other people surrounded his house and on the day of the election, a reporter was on the guy's front porch, waiting for his oral delivery of the vote. I can't remember more details, but I think of the story every so often. Maybe all last week, especially.

(624 posts)when you wrote that the judiciary would hold. From time to time over the last several years I have thought about what you wrote but wasn't absolutely sure that they would hold until yesterday. Thanks for the solid assurance years ago.

(83,737 posts)Lawyers, Voters and Judges from both sides did this. They did it as the virus is killing 3K a day. They did this when a sociopath holds our highest office.
We prevailed.
