Republican congressman rips Texas GOP for suggesting secession and says 'my guy Abraham Lincoln and

the Union soldiers already told you no'

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger on Friday criticized the Texas GOP for floating the idea of secession after the Supreme Court rejected a bid to overturn the results of the presidential election.

In a statement, the Republican Party of Texas decried the court's decision, with Chairman Allen West suggesting that "law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution."

Kinzinger, who represents Illinois' 16th District, said in a tweet the Texas GOP "should immediately retract this, apologize, and fire Allen West and anyone else associated with this."

"My guy Abraham Lincoln and the Union soldiers already told you no," he said.

You make me want to vomit Mr. Kinzinger. You have NOTHING in common with President Lincoln other than the fact that both are of the male persuasion.

...he's 100% R.
He's our rep. He is NOT a rabid radical, but low taxes, business friendly, low regulations, blah, blah..
But, this is a purple region. And he's very popular here. That's why he can afford to be anti-PINO. The Rs don't have a majority of crazies. Around half of all state, municipal, and county elected officials are D.
He gets all Trump crazy, he loses the coalition. (He won last month by about 25%)
He won't be primaried, because if they replace him with a trump but, 2 years removed, they lose the seat to the D's.
He can honestly say almost anything he wants, as long as he gets nowhere near the extremes.
Very MOR region of Illinois.

For people who claim to love America, there sure are a lot of Republicans who seem eager to tear America apart.

It's kinda like all those people who fly Confederate flags, completely oblivious to the fact that they are celebrating people who literally took up arms against the United States. I can't wrap my head around that "logic."
