in time is to stay away and ignore them. Do not do counter protests or engage with them in any way. That is exactly what they want. They are intentionally being provocative in order to stir up street violence.

Street violence will give Trump his excuse to call a state of national emergency.

But be prepared in case it later becomes necessary to protect people.

then you'll do it. But, I can't agree since I think it will escalate violence in the country without solving anything.

One exception, IMO, would be to hold large laughter counter protests, but it would require a lot of participants to pull it off. In a laughter protest, no signs would be needed. Just a sound system playing laughter loudly, with live participants joining in. Belligerent types who take themselves too seriously can't stand being laughed at.

But the laughing crowd would need to be large enough to outnumber the thugs and discourage them from retaliating physically because of being outnumbered.
